OE Solutions Grows Industrial-Temperature Rated 25Gbps Transceiver Portfolio

Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, September 20, 2018 — OE Solutions is adding two more industrial-temperature rated 25Gbps SFP28 transceiver products for access applications incl. wireless fronthaul – the 25G LAN-WDM Duplex ER-lite and the 25G 1270nm/1330nm BIDI LR. The rapidly expanding portfolio of 25Gbps transceivers supports a wide range of emerging 5G wireless fronthaul and other access network architectures while meeting challenging environmental requirements.
The next generation wireless technology, 5G – also referred to as New Radio (NR) – promises to enable a host of new services, such as self-driving cars, extensive use of augmented and virtual reality as well as artificial intelligence. Recognizing the potentially huge impact on businesses and consumers as well as on national economies, deployment plans are accelerating in many countries around the world. However, legacy services largely have to remain intact to enable an economical and graceful transition. Dark fibers and available spectrum in lit fibers are scarce encouraging each network operator to consider new network architectures very carefully, and even on a regional basis. Consequently, novel transceiver designs which enable efficient use of existing fiber plant and any available spectrum are critical for a rapid and cost-efficient launch of 5G in most geographies.

The new 25Gbps transceivers joining OE Solutions’ extensive list of IT-rated transceivers for access applications are:
- 25Gbps SFP28 LAN-WDM Duplex ER-lite IT for distances up to 30km
- 25Gbps SFP28 1270nm/1330nm BIDI LR IT for distances up to 10km
These transceivers will be generally available in Q3 2018.

- 25Gbps SFP28 CWDM Duplex LR IT for distances up to 10km
- 25Gbps SFP28 1270nm/1310nm BIDI ER-lite IT for distances up to 30km
- 25Gbps SFP28 1310nm Duplex LR IT for distances up to 10km
