OE Solutions Announces Industry’s First Industrial temperature CWDM/DWDM XFP Transceiver for Metro WDM Networks in Uncontrolled Environments

By OE Solutions

Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, February 23, 2011: OE Solutions Co, Ltd., a global supplier of high performance optoelectronic transceiver solutions for wireless and wireline optical communications, announced the introduction of Industrial Temperature (IT) grade XFP for both CWDM and DWDM for 80km reach applications.

“We are excited with this new I-temp XFP solution which enables to use CWDM/DWDM solutions for uncontrolled environment applications,” said Dr. Bongsin Kwark, Director of New Product Development at OE Solutions. “Market demands more flexibility in field deployment.  Service providers can design their system with more flexibility with industrial temperature operable transceiver solutions. This will pave the way for further penetration of CWDM/DWDM transceivers in outdoor applications and hence satisfy growing bandwidth demand.”

To meet diverse customer requirements, OE Solutions’ IT XFP are available for both 40km and 80km applications; 70km for CWDM XFP.  Wavelengths options are available for TDM as well as CWDM/DWDM applications.  New solutions with CWDM/DWDM parts are compatible with existing technologies already deployed in the field, interworking with SDH/SONET.

Achieving IT operation for CWDM & DWDM XFP has been a long standing challenge for transceiver manufacturers because of challenging thermal management inside transceiver.  Combining packaging expertise and high data-rate experience, OE Solutions’ engineering team has achieved a major milestone in developing XFP solution that can be utilized in outdoor application. This family of XFP enables the support of longer reach applications for Metro-WDM market, where it requires a cost-optimized, managed platform supporting different services and suitable for applications in diversified network topologies. With CWDM XFP, the system can support up to eight (8) wavelengths.  With DWDM XFP, the system can support for both C-band and L-band applications.

OE Solutions’ product family includes Bi-Directional transceivers and various WDM transceivers for SONET/SDH, Ethernet/IP, Fiber Channel, CPRI/OBSAI, SMPTE applications.

OE Solutions will exhibit in booth #1846 at the OFC/NFOEC 2011, March 6-10, 2011, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
