OE Solutions Announces Availability of Broad 10G-EPON Transceiver Portfolio

Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, March 16, 2016 — OE Solutions announces the availability of its broad portfolio of 10G and 10G/1G OLT (Optical Line Terminal) and ONU (Optical Network Unit) transceivers for next generation 10G-EPON network architectures including support for both PON Extenders and Remote OLTs in addition to the conventional direct-feed architecture. Available OLT variants support 10G or 10G/1G downlinks as well as 10G/1G uplinks and are available in both standard temperature and industrial temperature versions. Other new 10G-EPON transceivers are the WDM OLT for PON Extender applications and the High Link Budget (HLB) OLT both targeting longer-reach deployments. The portfolio also includes standard and industrial temperature range ONU transceivers.
Consumer as well as enterprise demand for high-capacity internet connection continue to grow rapidly. Service providers are responding with service offerings that are already now in the gigabits per second. Consequently, service providers are demanding PON network solutions, which cost-efficiently deliver higher capacities over the existing fiber plant and allow them to gracefully upgrade their networks to meet future needs. New transceivers supporting PON Extenders and Remote OLTs, combined with high link budget transceivers allow upgrades to 10G with a minimal number of transceiver variants and minimal capital investment.

The High Link Budget 10G-EPON OLT will be generally available in Q3 2016. All other 10G-EPON OLT and ONU transceivers variants are generally available now.
