GWANGJU, Korea and HILVERSUM, The Netherlands, September 7, 2012 \u2014 OE Solutions and AimValley today announced support for ITU-T Y.1731 frame loss and frame delay measurement and VLAN-aware Maintenance End Points in their Smart SFP\u2122.<\/p>\n

Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) are essential for service turn-up and SLA assurance in Carrier Ethernet networks. The Smart SFP\u2122 integrates OAM functions in an SFP module, handing operators an effective tool for monitoring and troubleshooting Ethernet services. The Y.1731 monitoring capabilities provide operators with accurate measurement of frame loss and frame delay in the network. These measurements can be performed separately per end-user, and per individual Class of Service level.<\/p>\n

Smart SFP\u2122 offers Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) of end-to-end Service OAM IEEE 802.1ag and Y.1731 Performance Management.<\/p>\n

While adding standards compliant intelligence into the SFP at Gigabit Ethernet wire speed with low latency, the Smart SFP\u2122 serves a wide range of transceiver types. Variations include dual fiber, single fiber BiDi, CWDM and Gigabit Ethernet reaches up to 80 km over Industrial Temperature range -40 to +85oC.<\/p>\n
