OE Solutions is a leading supplier of optoelectronic transceiver solutions for both broadband wireless and wireline markets. Its subsidiary OE Solutions America is developing unique semiconductor-based Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) which will drive OE Solutions next generation transceiver products.
The Position:
We are looking for a Photonics Test Engineer to expand the engineering team in our Goleta / CA R&D lab. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-driven, can work independent as well as in a multi- national team. Versatility and the ability to adapt to varying demands and deadlines is important. We are looking for people with the ability and the desire to learn and expand their knowledge, to work hard with similarly motivated people.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) characterization on chip-, carrier- and package-level
- Perform test data analysis and reporting to PIC design team
- Develop and improve test algorithms and collaborate with software engineering to implement
improvements - Procure test instruments and interact with equipment vendors
Key Qualifications:
- BSc or MSc in opto-electronics, photonics, electrical engineering, applied physics or similar
- Experience in operating fiber-optic test setups
- Experience in the characterization of active and passive semiconductor-based Photonic
Integrated Circuits such as lasers, modulators and photodiodes - Programming skills in Python, Matlab
- Ability to analyze measurement data and extract and present key device performance metrics
Additional bonus Qualifications:
- Programming skills in VB.NET
- Knowledge of test instrument communication protocols such as NI-VISA, USB, GPIB and
TCP/IP - Experience with high-speed RF characterization instruments, tools and methods
- Communication link testing including eye diagrams and BER measurements
